Frequently asked questions.
What makes Moksa skincare different from other natural skincare brands?
At Moksa, we combine certified organic ingredients with Ayurvedic principles to create skincare that nourishes your skin and your wellbeing. Each product is handcrafted in small batches using high-performance botanicals, with zero synthetic fragrance, fillers, or harsh preservatives. Inspired by rituals, not routines, our formulas are designed to bring a moment of calm and connection to your daily life — naturally.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin and skin conditions like eczema or rosacea?
Yes - our entire range is formulated with sensitive skin in mind. We use gentle, non-irritating ingredients such as calendula, chamomile, and rosehip to soothe, repair, and hydrate. Many of our customers with eczema, rosacea, or reactive skin have found relief using our oils and balms. However, as everyone's skin is unique, we always recommend patch testing first if you’re managing a specific condition.
How does Ayurveda influence your skincare formulations?
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of holistic healing, lies at the heart of Moksa. We draw on Ayurvedic wisdom by selecting herbs and oils known to balance the skin’s doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and support its natural healing abilities. Ingredients like saffron, neem, turmeric, amla, and brahmi are chosen not just for their physical benefits, but for how they affect mood, energy, and vitality — creating skincare that works on a deeper level.
Are all of your skincare products truly organic and cruelty-free?
Absolutely. We use certified organic ingredients wherever possible, and we never test on animals - nor do any of our suppliers. We are proudly cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, and committed to transparent, ethical sourcing. Our packaging is minimal and sustainable, and we never use synthetic fragrance, parabens, or other known irritants.
Can I use your products during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Many of our products are suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding, especially those made with gentle carrier oils and calming essential oils like lavender and chamomile. However, we do use some essential oils that may be contraindicated in early pregnancy, such as clary sage or rosemary. If you're unsure, please check the ingredients list or get in touch - we're happy to guide you to the most appropriate products for this special time.
What’s the best way to create a simple Ayurvedic skincare ritual at home?
A beautiful Ayurvedic skincare ritual doesn’t need to be complicated. We recommend three simple steps:
Cleanse with a gentle oil to remove impurities without stripping the skin
Tone with a hydrosol mist to hydrate and balance
Nourish with a facial oil or serum suited to your skin type and dosha
Take a moment to breathe deeply, massage slowly, and let the plant oils and aromas ground you. Your skin - and your nervous system - will thank you.
